A SAMPLING OF YOUR COMMENTS

Aug 1992

Hi Jeff, It is so nice to hear from you. After my brother George died I had a good relationship with your grandmother and the two girls - MaryAnn & Carol. Since they were my brother’s children I wanted them to know who I was when they saw me. They used to come to my house often and spend time here… If you are out in this direction I would love to see you… Keep in touch.

Hi Jeff, I think what you are doing is great! I am very interested in seeing the results! I remember your mom and your Aunt Carol very well. Your grandmother would bring them for a visit and we really had nice times together. I was young and we would drive to the movies and eat pizza and I thought that was great! Your grandmother (my Aunt Irene) would brush my teeth for me at night until I thought they were going to fall out! It’s nice to know that you are interested in your family history, because I think we have a pretty interesting one… Good luck in your project and keep in touch.

Dear Jeff, I’m so glad you have taken the initiative to work on the family tree. I had begun to do some a few years ago but graduate school and work became priorities. Anyway, I have had an interest in this for long time… Hopefully, everything will come together & the family tree will be complete… I hope to hear from you soon.

Dear Jeff, I received your letter today and was ready to toss it out and your name was too familiar. I knew I had heard the name, so I phoned Aunt Rosie (Fratini) and she told me where I knew the name from. I was at your grandmom’s about the time your parents were being married. I remember the gift I bought them. If you get to Canton please stop over and hear all about Uncle George (DeMarc) and see the pictures. We’d love to meet you… You must come and hear about “the family.”

Hi Jeff, I received your great letter and photos. I’m amazed that I have all these relatives that I never knew or met. I’m trying to untangle the relationships… Thanks so much for the news article about my grandfather Hake. My dad never did get that at the time and so I am giving it to him… Give my best to your family.

Dear Jeff, My uncle Rich Venditti gave me a copy of your questionnaire and asked me to fill it out. I am glad to do this for you. I think this in one hell of a project and wish you all the luck in the world. I would ne interested in seeing a copy of the results when you are done. This is an interesting project even though I would not attempt one like it myself… Once again if there are any questions please write me to ask. Best wishes.

Dear Jeff, I am so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. We moved to Texas and I am kinda disorganized at times… I am enclosing a copy of my mom’s (Rose DeMarc) obituary as you requested. She was a wonderful person and we miss her very much… I enjoyed your correspondence. Please keep in touch. Please give my regards to your family.

Hi Jeff, I didn't expect a reply so soon. I appreciate this. I was trying to find journals and other research materials and not having much luck. Anyway, I think my research skills suck anyhow. LOL… Anything you send me will be greatly appreciated for the assignment as well as for me and my curiosity of who I am and where I came from. I am doing the same for my mom's side of the family. Her side is a little more complicated as she is Polish and German and I believe a few other things… It would also be nice to keep in touch as for my children, not really little anymore, two girls 11 and 15. They may be interested in learning about their family history. This has been a difficult task when trying to go it alone, but it seems not so far away anymore now that I have asked for help. I seem to always ask for help at the last minute. I have to try to remember that the last minute is not such a good idea. I just have a hard time asking for help and assume I can do it myself. Thanks again, Jeff. I look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Jeff, WOW, you have really done your homework. An interesting read. I never knew my parents lived in Mahoningtown. The only place I remember them living before I was born was on the farm near Willow Grove, which my dad lost during the Depression. Let me know if I can be of any more help.

Jeff, Yes, I know it is a big project. I know because two or three of my friends are doing their family genealogy. They are retired so they have a lot of time. Here you are doing it when still working. I find it interesting that people are going to you with questions when you are so young. Looking forward to your website. Blessings.

I have spoken to George Fredrick Hake and he suggested I contact you concerning contacting some family members of mine that I never knew growing up. My grandparents are Alvie and Virginia. Alvie and her divorced… I am looking to connect with some of my father’s siblings. I never knew the family and I don't think that they knew that I existed growing up. Thank you.

I'm Mildred Ridenbaugh's granddaughter Cindy Cox, one of the granddaughters Mildred and Walter raised. I loved your site. I lost every picture of my grandmother Mildred. I read your site and I was crying so badly because Mimi and Grandpa’s died on my birthday (March 25). I live in Pasadena, Texas, and I have three kids: Anthony Dubois, Ashley Dubois, and Matthew Cox. Anthony is 26, Ashley 21, and Matthew is 16. Anthony has three kids so yes I got grandchildren. Thanks for the memories it made my day.

Thank you so much Jeff. You’re the best. You made my day. Now I got a picture of two of my great great grandmothers. I think it's amazing how you do what you do. I know Walter (Ridenbaugh) brags about what you are doing and he's so thankful too… Are you getting paid to do this or is it just something you like to do in your spare time? Because to tell you the truth I bet you could make some extra money doing this. There are so many people who are looking for relatives and you’re so good at it. I tell everyone my second cousin’s got this website of ancestors from way back, pictures, bios, etc. I get on your site all the time. I have been showing my kids what you did and they also think it's amazing. Thanks to you when we are all gone our families will have something to look at. You got me looking in ancestors.com because it's so amazing, but you surprise me how you find out what you find out because it's takes a lot of work doing what you are doing. ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU SO MUCH. I never knew my grandmother came from a family of 11 kids until you did what you did. I thought it was crazy that my husband's dad came from a family of 14 kids and all of them have a name starting with a V, even the mother and dad. Well I better go. I'm going to make me a picture of my great grandmother to hang on my wall.

I just finished reading what you wrote. It was nice. I didn't expect to have you write about me. I was sending what I could for mom and dad. It was a nice tribute you gave to Karen and Jaime. I sent her a copy this morning. I appreciate it and I know that she thanks you. My security won't let me download your web page, so Cindy sends me the page as soon as she sees it. Again I thank you for all the work that you are doing.

I keep checking your website often… I was looking yesterday and I noticed that just about all of the family has passed away. What you are doing is really a nice tribute to all their lives. I'm sure if they could thank you they would. I know that I'm very pleased with all the time that you have taken to do what you have. I thank you very much.
