On Monday, March 2, 2009, I was supposed to depart DC for a trip to Hawaii. Well, as luck would have it a blizzard dumped about ten inches of snow on us the night before. If you have ever been around DC during snow that's more than enough to cause all sorts of trouble. My flight was delayed a day, but I was able to take some decent photos of the aftermath of the snow storm at my parents' house. In the photos you see the house, Oxana with the snow shovel, my dog Patches creeping through the snow, and various scenes around the yard. A day or so later I was standing on the deck of the USS Arizona Memorial. This snow was nothing compared to what to come about eleven months later.
